India was divided into 16 mahajanapada in which Magadh was the greatest, largest and most prosperous mahajanapada. According to Indian mythology the king of Magadh was Brihadratha and after him the throne was ascended by his own son Jarasandh and according to historians Bimbisar was the first ruler of Magadh. It was the most powerful Kingdom of India due to his strongest army


The above information was about the past Magadh and if we will talk about the modern day of Magadh then it is the combination of half Jharkhand and full Bihar which consist Gaya, Palamu, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal etc. The Magadh was the nucleus of  several larger kingdom or empires between 6th century BCE and 8th century CE due to its great prosperity every king want to conquer Magadh but as MAGADH itself was famous for his army so so it remains undefeated. Its location is West Central Bihar and north eastern India.

One of the reason of the great prosperity of Magadh is the fertile gangetic alluvial soil abundant water resources actually it is surrounded by many great rivers such as in North Ganga, in East Champa and West part of Magadh is surrounded by river Son. And in south direction it is surrounded by the chota Nagpur plateau. The fertile gangetic alluvial soil abundant water resources particularly groundwater resources form the the basis of of agriculture in Magadh. The crops which are are grown in Magadh are the maximum type of crops which are found in India. The maximum population of Magadh are engaged in farming and it is one of the top producer of vegetables and fruits in India. Accepting few crops like Bajra Magadh produces all the crops like corn, sugar cane, oil seeds, mustards etc .



It it is the place which promotes Hinduism and it gifted us two more religion Buddhism and Jainism. It also contributed in the technology and brings the greatest revolution in the science and technology the Nalanda University is in Magadh only.
